Britt D. Vinson, D.D.S., M.S.D., P.A.

In pursuit of excellence in his orthodontic profession, Dr. Vinson is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. Dr. Vinson strives to bring the latest techniques and technology to his orthodontic practice. This is achieved by keeping abreast of the most recent studies and research while participating in numerous continuing education courses.

Dr. Vinson was born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He graduated from Ravenscroft School in 1986 where he played football, basketball and tennis. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he majored in Biology and graduated in 1991. While remaining at UNC-Chapel, he attended dental school and graduated in 1994. While at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, he was active in the American Student Dental Association.

Pursuing his childhood dream of becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Vinson furthered his post-dental school education by attending an Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the prestigious Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He remained in Pennsylvania and attended Temple University School of Orthodontics where he received his Master of Science in Dentistry in 1997.

Dr. Vinson studied and researched under several exceptional mentors throughout his educational journey. He contributed at every institute by researching, presenting and publishing on various topics including tooth eruption through bone grafts in cleft palate patients and the influence of growth factors and their effects on tooth eruption.

Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Vinson is devoted to spending time with his wife, Tammy, and their three children. He and his family are active members at Grace Community Church in Raleigh, North Carolina. His interests include running marathons, scuba diving and daily participation in his children’s activities. His “gift of design” with his hands also transfers to his personal life at home where he enjoys wood carving and boatbuilding.
